Brief Update...

Well, last week and this week has been so full of good times.  This weekend we were able to head to Johnson City, TN and see our good friends Lynne & Chad Moss and their new bundle of joy Patrick who was born on July 20.  It was so good to surprise them and take some time to visit with them.   We miss having them in Nashville but keep in touch as good as we can...congrats to them!

I also had one of the most weirdest experiences of my life.  For each prenatal visit thus far, I have tested positive for a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).  I have been on 3 different antibiotics and none of them have seemed to work and this can be very serious if we don't knock it out before I get farther along.  My doctor sent me to see a urologist and I don't know if any of you have ever had to go but I was the youngest person in there except for the nurses.  I thought I was in the geriatric ward and the other patients in the waiting room were talking so loud!  Anyways, when I talked with the doctor, he told me that I have to get a catheterized sample in order to pinpoint where the bacteria is coming from and determine how to treat it.  So, Monday this week I went to have it done...and the nurse who performed the procedure knew me!!!  That is so weird.  I know that she does this procedure all the time but to know the person doing it just takes it to another level.  She apparently went to the same high school as me and even graduated in the same year but I don't remember her.  Our high school was so large that it is not uncommon to graduate and not know some people in your graduating class. And let me just say that those of you who have had a catheter know that can be an unpleasant experience.  I was so ready for the whole thing to be over before it began.  I am waiting the results but hopefully all things will come back clear.  Boy, the things we do for these babies!  As soon as I know something, you will know. Until then...
