Well we are now at our 30th week of pregnancy...can you believe I am saying that! To go from saying this is our 30th try to get pregnant to the 30th week of pregnancy is a huge change for me. I must stop writing about this before I start crying!
This past weekend, my sister, sister-in-law, and several of my friends gave me the best shower a girl could ask for. We had it at Mere Bulles Restaurant and we had about 65 people in attendance. It was a huge change from the wedding I had almost 5 years ago. I could invite everyone to my wedding but I had to use a lot of discretion when choosing who to invite to my shower. I hated cutting people out because we are just so happy about having a baby that we want to share our happiness with everyone. However, I could not be any more happy with the turnout and we had a ball! Here are a few pics...
We had a blast! And my sweet hubby surprised me with his presence at the shower and brought me some Vera Bradley luggage for my hospital bag. I so need help to know what to pack for the hospital. I have been thinking about it but I truly have no idea what people put in that thing. We are now signed up for childbirth classes on December 1 & December 8. Hopefully I will find out what we need at those classes. We also picked our pediatrician and can't wait for her to meet our sweet baby girl. Things are starting to fall into place and I cannot believe how supportive everyone has been. We are now in the final trimester :)
Also, we are closer to finishing the nursery. Her wall monogram finally came in and here it is...I Love It!
Now the only thing I have left is to get a rug for the room. My mother surprised me with ordering it but it may take a while before it comes due to Hurricane Sandy. I am in no hurry so whenever it gets here...is when it gets here. We had our last prenatal visit on Monday and now we go see our doctor every two weeks for the next couple of visits. I just never thought this day would ever come...but it has and I am thanking God every day for making it this far in our pregnancy and for having a healthy pregnancy. The funniest thing happened to me last night. I had the worst leg cramp! I am in bed and wake up in pain and I don't know whether to scream or just grin and bare it. So I chose to let Mr. Wonderful sleep and work out the cramp on my own. I felt like Claire Huxtable when she was working out and fell in the floor in the middle of the night with a leg cramp but didn't want to wake her husband. Where in the world do these things come from? I guess I am being prepared for having to get up and care for a child in the middle of the night. I was told that this is a common occurrence in pregnancy...but this is one symptom I could do without. Oh the things we do for these children we love. Hopefully this won't be a common occurrence...yall have got to tell me about these things so I can be prepared.
My great doctor says that she is glad we are having an uneventful pregnancy for the most part because we had such an ordeal conceiving. I can honestly say I agree. All of my tests have been great and I have gained a total of 15 pounds. I am just hopeful that things continue on this path. Until next time...
